If you frequent this website (and there are more every day who do) you may have noticed that besides the new look, it is also getting more, shall we say, "stuff.." I've added a new menu called "Community," that includes some good links and information relative to Sacramento and N California residents to use, like Emergency contacts for various communities in the Sacramento area. Also there are some links to blogs and information regarding politics, finance, and general news. Even though this is primarily a music site, it also serves me as a link to information that I think is relevant in my life, and hopefully I can provide a place for you to find information easily that you might need or feel is important in your life too. I will continue to build my links section to include not only music and artistic information, but all manner of web sites. I do not particularly endorse any of the sites I link, but I felt they were relevant when I put them up. Please feel free to suggest sites you like with an e-mail to me There is also a menu of Mandolin links, so Mandolin Cafe , and Jazz Mando.com are right at your mouse tip. On the right side of the page find articles that are relevant and new. I also plan on having an extensive connection area for all of the other arts under Arts and Music, photographers, artists and especially musicians and bands. At the bottom of all of the pages on this site are banners of bands I know, play with, like, and have a banner for. If you want to be included let me know, I'll gladly link your band or myspace site. The banners rotate, so yours will pop up periodically. I offer this service Free for my music friends. I would also like to exchange links with any other websites that want to. Let's talk!
Now on to my music! Check The Calendar! Called by Christian Keifer, writer for the Sacramento News and Review, the "Local Mandolin Guru," Ken Burnett plays and sings with many of the great bands that come from N California and calls Sacramento home.
2Me
One of N. Ca's finest bands also has Ken in on many shows and concerts. 2Me generates big-time crowds and excitement wherever they play. I predict Ricky will be the next big music coup for Sacramento. Catch one of her shows. The greatest part is I sometimes play with her, and she is my really good friend. We get to hang out and act like idiots, doesn't get any better than that. Hobo Ska at it's finest. I play guitar with this band, one of N. California's best bands Brendan Lake is the finest songwriter in N. California. Velvet voice with crunch and Devil on Horseback Madeline Roa
Madie has socially conscious tunes and some really fun ones. She is a KICK to be around and play music with! Wonderful Lady! Come see us, she has a few shows coming up soon! And I get to play music with her! Whoo Hoo! Roberta Chevrette Also features the mandolin and vocal work of Ken on two records, and various live performances. This rockin duo also performs with a full band or with other various players.
Woody Boyd
I'm Just a Cowboy, Woody Boyd and I play some here and there. We've been known to a pick a bluegrass tune, a country ballad, and some kick ass music, sometimes as a duo, a trio, or even a full on kick-ass country band
Recently Ken recorded a new record with local old-time blues and folk player/singer/songwriter
Sal Valentino Sometimes enlists Ken to accompany him. Sal was the frontman for the sixties rock band The Beau Brummels and Stoneground, and still packs shows to hear his unique voice and witness his awesome stage presence. Ken has recorded and played with numerous other bands over the last 15 years. String Creek Band, Mendocino County's leading bluegrass band, Minglewood in Sacramento, The William Mylar Band, and Richard March Some other bands have used Ken to fill in occasionally for lead duties Out of Place Fitzjarrald and Burnett Woody Boyd who also does all of Ken's instrument work and set-ups Drivin Mizz Suzzie Andreas Mario Bonfire There have been more and will be more in the future.
